It is listed at 1146 W El Camino Real, Sunnyvale, CA 94087, which places it among the local businesses of Sunnyvale that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Sunnyvale; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in California are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. Typical hours are 11 amβ9 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. Sunnyvale is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Sunnyvale is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

We have eaten at the Ginger Cafe for years. We picked up food to go for three. The food tasted very odd. We all three got sick. My husband had an allergic reaction as well. The food was of poor quality as well. It had not been before. I called in and spoke to a man there. He told me he would have to talk to the manager/owner. The owner called me back. Told me his chief said the food was prepared as usual and there was nothing wrong with the food. They refused to refund our order. It either went in the toilet or in the garbage. This is a health hazard. There was zero concern for us. No apology at all. We were brushed off and we were regular customers for many years in Sunnyvale. We will not go back, they lost three customers. Getting sick was bad enough. Being treated like our health meant nothing told me all I need to know about this restaurant owner. Avoid this place.

Yesterday we ordered food from the new Sunnyvale location and must say it was an awful experience, from what we originally know of the food and taste. I ordered $117 worth food and let me explain my experience: 1. Shrimp Dim sums - bland filling 2. Salt and pepper shrimp - The Shrimp crust was hard and not made the right way, which is generally soft and crispy. 3. Chowmein - Bland and no taste. 4. Lamb Cumin - it was chunks of lamb , battered and cooked β¦ it was such a tasty dish earlier where the lamb was never batter fried like chunks. 5. Salty fried rice - This is worst. The rice quality also changed. All in all - very poor experience. And worst part is costumer service; when I complained, I was told bring the food (which I should have stored overnite ) and they will taste and act. Funny ! Pretty sure , the cook is new and have no clue about the previous taste and menu. Never again !

The young man casher is one of the kindest staff I've ever met in a restaurant. The restaurant atmosphere is so cool. You are able to choose less salty and less oily option, which is amazing. Food is good as well! It took less than 10 minutes to get the food to go. Definitely worth to try it.

The Vietnamese Coffee was really good, it was sweet and smooth. The atmosphere was a mix of casual yet upscale which was comfortable. The orange chicken was light and fluffy and not too overly crunchy with a soft and balanced flavor. The fried rice on the side paired well in quality. Serving sizes were also generous and filling. Nice spot to have come to.
